Nutritional Therapy (NT) addresses mind, body and spirit as a whole. They are interconnected and whatever happens in one area also affects the other two. For example, stress, lack of sleep, anxiety, high sugar consumption, have a real impact which manifests with physical symptoms such as bloating, skin problems, headaches etc.
Practitioners consider each individual to be unique and recommend patient-centered nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ philosophy. It is for those exact reasons that the personalized approach of NT works well alongside conventional medicine.
The aim is not to just get rid of the symptoms, but to restore optimal health in each individual. NT addresses the root cause of the illness, in an effort to create a balanced health versus treating sequence of illnesses. Unlike other approaches, one of the major benefits is that it will eliminate symptoms without negative side effects.
The body always wants to be in homeostasis (equilibrium/balance) and repair itself. Even if we have off days, the body will then have the tools to get back to that balanced state.
